EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. I got engaged over the summer, and I’ve since descended into a very specific circle of hell known as Wedding Planning. But this weekend, I’m giving myself a break. On the agenda:

Fellow Lemon Lovers, see you at Costco. It just dropped the croissant of our dreams, and a fan says it’s “one of the best things the Costco bakery has ever done.” Ice cream is not optional, you understand.
Black jeans, you’ve been good to me. But I’m stocking up on Fashion People’s new favorite denim wash, which scientifically makes everything in your closet look five times more expensive. Don’t ask me to explain.
The easiest way to make every meal feel like a dinner party? No, not hiring a private chef. But making one surprisingly small swap to your table (or couch) setting. It even works with 9 pm takeout, trust me.
J.Crew teamed up with millennials’ favorite doll brand for a collab I definitely would’ve begged my parents to buy me. Will I purchase it all for my 4-year-old niece (read: me)? Duh.
At 5-foot-2, I’ve always believed everything > skirts. But one of fall’s biggest trends has been tempting me, and Kate Middleton confirmed it gives “I’m the Chicest Person” energy. So, yeah, the Zara one is mine.

👯‍♀️ We’ve seen enough: The Twinset is fall’s most unlikely fashion hero. Will it remind you of ’90s country club moms? Yes. But is it way cooler? Also yes.

🇬🇧 Think barn jackets are the UK’s greatest export? Meet the plaid pub jacket — more polished, versatile, and perfect for faking the London Girl Look. Just ask Monica Barbaro.

👀 If you also haven’t mastered the art of making your perfume last all day, you’re probably spraying your skin and skipping this surprisingly obvious place. We’re mad it took us this long.

🦵 We can’t believe we’re saying this, but these skirt-and-tights outfit formulas are so stupidly chic, we’re willing — OK, excited — to pull on Our Worst Enemy™.

🥿 Sure, black and brown flats go with everything. But so does this new “It” shoe color, and Kendall Jenner is proof. Jeans and a T-shirt have never looked so rich.

Back when we were dialing 1-866-IDOLS to vote for Kelly Clarkson, never could we have imagined that the woman behind “A Moment Like This” would be involved in, well, a moment like this. Yes, we’re talking about the strangest celebrity beef in history (sorry, Peppa Pig and Clairo): Miss Independent v. Art of Play, a bougie Brooklyn toy and novelty store she said treated her “like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman” after she tried to buy Molly, a singing and dancing animatronic bird (aka “the Helen of Troy of Cobble Hill”), which the shop maintains was never for sale. As Vivian Ward would say, “Big mistake! Big. Huge!” In the 537 — sorry, eight — days since, one of the shop’s co-owners (who, plot twist, wrote Dragons Love Tacos) claimed “Kelly Clarkson has put us in danger” (someone check on Justin Timberlake), accused her of “asymmetrical social warfare,” and said about 1,500 other now-internet-famous things. Plus, Molly’s theoretical price has skyrocketed. And supposed security footage (albeit with no sound) has emerged, which either vindicates Team Kelly or Fans of a Store Where You Can Buy a $310 Wooden Xylophone (really).

We’re not here to take sides, but there’s one obvious winner to this avian brouhaha. Queen Molly, of course. But really, the chronically online, who turned this feud into some Very Good Internet. People latched on to exactly five words of Clarkson’s 2015-style Twitter rant, deemed it SNL’s greatest missed opportunity, and made a brutally spot-on Brooklyn reference. Some joked about what else Kelly might threaten to buy, from our favorite place to experience an indoor thunderstorm to your Uncle Joe’s most prized piece of wall decor (does anyone have eyes on Big Bird?). At least one brave soul pointed out that much cheaper mechanical birds exist (something tells us Kelly isn’t interested). And many turned the drama into the 2026-iest Halloween costumes, the lost episode of Sex and the City (the Carrie line is Pulitzer Prize-worthy), and Peak Meme Content (guilty as charged). As for what Kelly thinks of the internet spectacle? Based on her recent Vegas performance, she doesn’t seem too bothered. After all, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

If you ever owned a Peter Pan collar dress from ModCloth, congrats on what has surely been a thrilling week. On Tuesday, Lena Dunham and Co. announced Girls is getting a reboot, and we’re… desperate to find out what our favorite worst people have been up to. So, speaking as the voice of our generation — or at least a voice of a generation — we’re making some predictions.

✏️ Hannah teaches at a liberal arts college upstate, where she’d rather beg her Gen Z students to let her follow their finstas than grade papers. After racking up a few hundred followers on her Substack about single mom-ing, she gets a lucrative book deal for a thinly veiled novel about her insufferable friends from her early 20s: “Marley,” “Jessica,” and “Shannon.” She will, inevitably, get sued for defamation.

🎤 Marnie has moved to Greenwich, CT, with her second (finance) husband, who she refers to on Instagram as her “forever wedding date,” but secretly can’t stand. In between all the #BoyMom content, she’s still taking risks and putting herself out there creatively, by posting Olivia Dean covers on TikTok. She owns four Dôen dresses and has moderate credit card debt.

🚬 Jessa is a few years sober, which she credits to a “wellness retreat” that was maybe, kind of, technically a cult. She’s now a Reiki practitioner and sound healer to ultrawealthy clients whose names she can’t remember. RFK Jr. has liked all of her Instagram posts for some reason.

🎀 Shosh dumped her husband after an emotional breakthrough at the Eras Tour, and is the Girl Boss (literally, her email signature) at a sustainable athleisure turned weighted vest brand. She loves her “mahj” group, never misses a Reese Witherspoon book club pick, and still texts her Barneys personal shopper. Obviously, she subscribes to theSkimm.

Just when we thought matching family-holiday onesies were a tradition we could forever cross off our to-do lists, Rihanna said, “b*tch better buy my jammies.” Spiritually, we are all RZA.

Austenheads, let’s get this out of the way: Nothing can top the already perfect 1995 film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility. But that hasn’t stopped director Georgia Oakley from throwing sense and sensibility to the wind and trying regardless. In the new version, Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Elinor, Patron Saint of Eldest Daughters, and Esmé Creed-Miles plays Marianne, Patron Saint of Middle Children — two sisters forced to move out of their family estate with their mother (Caitríona Balfe) and youngest sister (Bodhi Rae Breathnach) after their father’s death. As they navigate financial ruin and various suitors, expect the usual romance and yearning, but even more sisterhood, not a lick of makeup, and precisely zero tight corsets. The result? Critics are already calling it “a sensational new adaptation,” which, frankly, is as good as it gets.

Anua Rice 70 Intensive Moisturizing Milk

Caroline, senior commerce editor, here. If you think face essences are just a clever marketing ploy, this K-beauty option will change your mind. It’s thicker than a toner, lighter than a serum, and, true to its name, has a soothing, milky texture that absorbs right into my skin. I sandwich it between my toner and serum for an extra boost of moisture, and I’ve noticed it’s made my complexion clearer, calmer, and, dare I say, plumper. Plus, at $19, I don’t worry about using it liberally (as in, slathering it all over my neck and décolletage). It’s become a year-round staple, and with colder temps on the horizon, I’m not skipping a day until next spring… at least.
