Umberto Mezzadra spent years preaching the gospel of putting your phone down. His physical card brand, PlayPauseBe, did $200k on Kickstarter promising exactly that: a way to disconnect. Then… he built an app for it. The irony wasn't lost on him. Floga pre-launched with a $120k day, bypassed the app stores entirely to keep the 30% cut, and is now at $10k MRR.

The launch worked because he leaned on his existing community, but he didn't offer a typical "freemium" trial. Instead, he ran a high-stakes lifetime deal with no refunds, limited spots, and a tight deadline. It's a great case study in using brand trust to fund a new build while keeping every dollar.
